Joachim McMillan: Born on the Caribbean Island of Grenada, West Indies.
Joachim has been painting all his life and as a self taught artist aims to develop all the techniques required to become a master painter. Joachim was motivated and encouraged to draw and paint by his father, Loftus Mcmillan, who inspired him to continue his career in fine arts. Joachim started his career doing pieces for galleries all over the Caribbean, a region that caters to tourism from the Western Hemisphere and Europe.
Some of his work included creating banners for cultural events attended by heads of government and other top delegates. Joachim went on to live in New York City, where he got into a study group for up and coming artist, both from the streets and colleges, where they shared ideas. He then moved to Massachusetts and then to California where he furthered his studies as an artist while working for a leading semiconductor company.
Joachim now resides just outside the city limits of Portland, Oregon, where he collaborates with local artists and showcases his work at various galleries.
Joachim manages Gallerie Rene in Portland, Oregon and also presently focusing on his primary goal of being a known artist.
